This can go after two card types and it does upgrade your board a tiny bit, but overall it still seems a little too slow to be anything special If you can exile two things and pick off a bunch of stuff with this its going to feel pretty good, especially if it hurts your opponent more than it hurts you
This was especially true in Commander, where the lack of sideboards meant the mechanical pairing didn't work, and the Lessons were too weak and under-supported to justify playing
That means a deck needs to be almost entirely built around an epic spell before including it at all
